Ranks

How does a promotion look like?
Our ranking system differs from those usually used in JKA. To gain each rank you must wait at least 1 month. After this period you can ask Promoter (preferably) or Councillor/PD/OL (depending on their permissions) to promote you. He/she will test your skills to check if you are ready. If you fail promotion you can re-try after the period of time that is chosen by the person promoting.
The goal of promotion duels is to check the skills of the member being tested. There are 2 ways in which promotions are usually done:
1. Checking skills in a race: Promoter will fight you in a race(or "best of") to 3,4,5 or 6. In those duels he will try to fight on the level of the rank you are trying to achieve. Usually winning the race equals getting next rank.
2. Measuring skills by many duels: Promoter will fight with you as long as he wishes to check your skills. You should fight your best in those duels. No matter whether you won or lost most of the times as promoter usually fights on different skill levels to check your behavior versus many styles. After you are finished promoter will tell you if he finds your skills good enough for another rank.
What you should remember
- Promotion duels are done to check your skills. Many things may happen while dueling. The promoter has the full right not to promote you, even after you won most duels. However, he can also give you the next rank even if you lost against with him/her.
- According to this you should take into account that winning by pure luck or by using noobish tricks like katas or pure fanning will not bring you closer to getting next rank.
- Promoters are usually high ranked members with skills reaching Master or even Blademaster level. In promotions they will usually fight on level suiting you, so don't think that you have no chances for rank up just because you can't beat them while ordinary duels (in which they mostly fight with their real skills)
- Always make sure that your waiting period for the next rank passed before asking for promotions. If it turns out that your time didn't pass when the promotion is done, the promotion will be canceled instantly.

Common ranks
Recruit
When you post an application on our forum you become a Recruit. You must wait 1 week while being observed by members and the Council. If you are active and nice you will be accepted. Otherwise, you may not get into the clan.
If you have any problems while beginning your adventures with EFF (or JKA), feel free to ask the Caretakers to help you out.

Adept (9th rank from the top)
When your application is accepted, you become a formal member. It's the first rank in your way up. Orders now observe you and you observe them to choose which path you will follow in the close future- Jedi or Sith.
Adept has to wait at least a week before choosing a side. If you think you have all the basic knowledge about the clan and saber fighting you can ask any Caretaker for promotion. He/she will check if you have the needed knowledge.

Jedi Padawan/Sith Disciple (8th)
When you have the right skills and you decided which side you are going to join, you may enter one of the Orders. These are the first ranks of Jedis and Siths. From now on you are a full member and your further promotions will generally be carried on by the Promoters. From now on they will be based only on your skills.
Jedi Knight/Sith Marauder (Low Rank) (7th)
This is the first rank that requires you to fight. You should know the basics, but it is not necessary to use them perfectly.
Jedi Guardian/Sith Warrior (Low Rank) (6th)
This is the second rank that requires you to fight. You should know all the basics and use them perfectly.
Jedi Ace/Sith Assassin (High Rank) (5th)
This is the first of the high ranks. It requires you to know the basics and use them perfectly, but you should also know how to use aggressive and passive style.
Jedi Lord/ Sith Inquisitor (High rank) (4th)
To achieve this rank you must be able to fight against all weapons (single, duals, staff). It's the last High Rank and it requires to know how to do some advance techniques.
Jedi Master/Sith Lord (Master Rank) (3rd)
To become a Master/Lord you have to wait a longer time as Jedi Lord/Sith Inquisitor. You must wait at least 2 months. You have to completely master 1 weapon (single/duals/staff) to get this rank. A Master of all of each weapon (single/duals/staff) must be fought in this promotion. The Master Rank means that you have mastered one of the weapons. Elite rank means that you have mastered 2 or more weapons, or fight at an outstanding level for one saber.
Trimmed Jedi Master/Sith Lord (Elite Rank) (3rd)
As JM/SL you have to wait 1 month, like an ordinary promotion, before taking trials for the title of Master in another weapon. This trial will look exactly the same as trials for JM/SL rank, but will test your skills in a different weapon. Mastering 2 weapons will give you trimmed Master rank (*JM*/*SL*).
Blademaster (Elite Rank) (2nd)
A Blademaster is a Jedi Master or Sith Lord who reached the Mastery in 3 weapons (pass Master trials for all weapons: single, staff and duals).
Jedi Vangaurd/Sith Overlord(Elite Rank) (2nd)
A Jedi Vanguard/Sith Overlord is a Jedi Master or Sith Lord who fights at an outstanding level for one saber. Because this is the highest skill rank that can be achieved in EFF, the testing method is different from other promotions. Three stages need to be followed in this order (over several days):
1) Standard master promo - fight a significantly higher level than normal masters.
2) Fight against all active people with this rank
3) Fight all members who want to take part of the trial

Elite (Elite Rank) (1st)
A person who has reached the Blademaster rank and the Jedi Vanguard/Sith Overlord rank earns the title of an EFF Jedi/Sith Elite. This means that a person mastered all three weapons and fights at an exceptional skill level for one of the three weapons. The Elite rank is nearly impossible to get, it demands very unusual skill level and is only meant for few people. Earning it puts you among the strongest duelers in the whole JKA universe.
